Istanbul Food & Culture Tour: Dinner with a Local Family

This evening tour trades monuments for something more personal: a seat at a local family's dinner table. Rather than a restaurant meal, you're welcomed into an Istanbul home for a traditional, home-cooked dinner and a real taste of everyday Turkish hospitality.
Before or after the meal, your guide leads a walk through historic Sultanahmet, past the ancient Hippodrome with its 3,500-year-old Egyptian obelisk and Serpentine Column, pausing at Sultanahmet Square for photos of the surrounding landmarks. Because little English is spoken in the household, the guide stays close to translate and keep the conversation flowing.
The night winds down at a local teahouse, glass of tea in hand, among neighbours rather than tourists. Dinner, soft drinks and the guide are included; comfortable slip-on shoes and modest dress are recommended.
